Power Step Inserts How Do I Fit A New , Faster , Graphics Card?

How do i fit a new , faster , graphics card? - power step inserts

My PC is about 4 years ago and today is a Dell Dimension 4600, 2.8 GHz, 1 GB of RAM with an AGP 128MB Nvidia 5200fx, and I want to replace the graphics card with 256 Gigabyte 7600 GS AGP.
It seems simple, but I've never done before I need to know what I need to connect to an alternative source to 6-pin card? The new card has a 6-pin female connector, but time is no fan, only a heatsink, but the remaining 6 wire electrical pin on my PC is not enough to get the video card (my card current requirement that the advantage of power).
I'll also need a power supply higher than the 240 I? some of those high-end cards need to read, 350V or more, but I can not find this information anywhere on the network so I assume that will run on 240?
I know how to disable uninstall the existing driver, and then remove the power cord, pull the card, insert the new card, turn on and load the new drivers to help but the installation step by step would be greatly appreciated.

Hi neo, the method of installing a new graphics card is much faster in the same way that most graphics cards, is required but in case of a 7600GS power connector to power the new card
7600GS AGP versions require the 4-pin molex power connectors and unused 6-pin PCI-Express version, and if you are short on 4-pin connector, and a separator is painted with a map
You need a power supply by the current model of something like 240 watts 350Watt upgrade even though I have a 500 watt power supply recommended, just to the right side
is also necessary to remove the old driver SNA the updated driver from NVIDIA dinstall, is the latest driver for the GeForce 7600GS ... http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_16 ...
An important thing to remember clog, not a new card without the power supply, 4-pin connected, if you do serious damage to your card, check this before you first
anyway heres the guide step by step .....
1. Open Remove the computer case andYour old card and put it in an antistatic bag, and still in original packaging if you still
2.Take your new card and insert it into the slot until the white AGP clip into place, then screw the bolt to monitor and, finally, firmly and securely, and place the 4-pin power source and can verify that Your contact information
3. If it is not possible to divide the power supply to the video card, if it must be better, a splitter cable with HDD DVD-RW and share the power of the graphics on your hard drive using the reason of the share of power is cupply develops games lag and skip, especially if your diet is to limit the power
4) Close the case and restart your PC, as with all information on NVIDIA BIOS before the message is displayed, it means that the cards are plugged
5) When Windows loads the office equipment "new" appears to ignore these messages and click Cancel
6) Go to "Nvidia ForceWare Drivers" and click on the file to install the carClick ds driver when message appears on the signature of the driver, click "Continue", the screen goes black and a few times, dont worry this is normal, and if you install the drivers for the team Press Restart
7) restart of Windows may flicker or go black again, as the new NVIDIA driver is on the right side and then click Control Panel NVIDIA pres
8) Now you can resolution and refresh rate from its desired level, and the desktop color and
NVIDIA GeForce 7600GS card with some good guidelines on the clock speed of 400MHz core and memory clock speeds of 700 MHz, an additional consideration that you can buy the GeForce 7600GT, this card is compared to a game better with higher clock speed (562mhz) and a higher memory bandwidth (22.5gbps) to (7600GS 12.8Gbps)
Hope this helps, any problems let me know
Neo good luck!

The following link allows you to calculate the energy of the configuration of your proposal.
I have a passive Gigabyte 7600GS AGP, based on an old machine with a 280W power supply. I have not tested stress - I'm using a new image for the game ...
Please connect the extra power, you get a warning at startup, the card is not fully functional. I do not remember the warning of the damage, but he was immediately arrested again. It is useless to improve, if not connect properly!
Someone came with a HDTV adapter and a DVI to VGA / D-sub, but no power divider, it is likely you need, if not replace the power supply.
Reviews on Newegg are generally favorable, but it can be an overheating problem.
I bought the first reported 88 ° C in a vacuum, and reached 125 ° C in 3DMark2001SE. This is the temperature at which nipped back and increases the performance of the window.
Be shared without problem, scanning and replacement is very good.

[Update]: The eXtreme Power Supply Calculator Lite v2.5 (third link) shows that the 7600GS will require less energy than the FX5200 - it may well.

PSU tradition seems to be everything on a long hood have!
If I guarantee to replace your power supply in order that can accommodate 20 and 24 pins on the motherboard.
My focus is on peace and stability - a name of quality specifications apparently equal less than the label template.
My most recent purchase is a Seasonic 430W PSU - Running my AMD 64 3800 + and 7600 without any problems.

Remember molex splitter!

Good luck!

I prefer the card provider this. Most cards, with a list of hardware specifications for each of its products.Dont you buy, whether your hardware is not on this list. If you are a hardware geek and a little knowledge of Linux, then I think you should have no problem, but that does not seem to be the case. In gastronomy, and so perhaps your old Dell machine is not to exhibit at SMP for the card. to review better. And yes, there is always an alternative, the question is how.

Good luck.
